I bottled my old speckled hen clone yesterday after 2 weeks in the FV.
Normally when I bottle, the beer is still quite cloudy, and you can see some sediment settling quite quickly at the bottom of the bottle. This time however, the beer is crystal clear, and no visible sediment at all yet.
I batch primed with 80g table sugar for about 18l.
Am I worrying prematurely and there will be some active yeast present to carbonate the beer? I'm planning on leaving it in the warm for 2 weeks then out to the garage for another 2 before sampling, but that will be hard as the sample jar tasted so nice!
Yeast for carbonation
Re: Yeast for carbonation
Dont worry there will be plenty of yeast in there to do the work !

Re: Yeast for carbonation
Did you work out how you cleared it this time? Might be worth noting for the future.
Re: Yeast for carbonation
Didn't do anything apart from leave it in the FV for 2 weeks. Nothing different than what I've done before so not sure why it's so clear.
Not that I'm complaining of course, as long as it turn out ok.
I've recently moved to making grain beer from kits and a couple of extract brews, hopefully I'm doing something right.
