How many kgs of grain does a 25lt bucket hold?

Post by phatboytall » Tue Nov 25, 2014 5:00 pm

As the title says, how many kgs of crushed grain does a standard 25litre FV bucket hold?

My hanging scales are broke and I need to weight out 13kgs tonight, dont fancy doing it in 600g scoops with my mini scales.

My bet is about 10kgs....

My last brew was about 11kg of grains and the bucket had about 3 - 4 inch space at the top.

Wonderful picture, i'm guessing from a brewday.

Any info on how much malt was in there?

Just to confirm what has been said, my 10l bucket took about 4.5kg of grain on my last brewday.

4.5 X 2.5 (25l bucket) = 11.25kg, so looks to be right.
