This has to be the greatest amount of yeast pushed out through the blow off tube I've ever had.
It's a 1.048 bitter, pitched with Malt Miller ale yeast on Monday afternoon. By this morning, about 40 hours after pitching, the blow off bucket looked like it was full of beer and there was a huge head on it!

Re: Huge overflow!
How much head space did you leave at the top of your fermenter?
Re: Huge overflow!
That looks like a lot of beer, vs yeast!
I'm just wondering if you may be better experimenting with a narrower gauge tube, making it a little less easy for those yeasties to escape, while still stopping anything blowing apart. Just a thought.
I never use a blow off now; I prefer to leave the lid loose and just crush it down a bit if I can be around, skim only if necessary, trying to leave as much as possible. I have a commercial brewing friend who is well impressed with antifoam, which might be worth a go.
Biggest blow off disaster ever... I crash chilled with it still in place, changing the pressures such that it sucked a litre of star san into a DJ of my 3L starter.

I had about 1L of Starsan sucked into 23L of IPA when I cooled it. I'm pleased to say that the resulting beer tastes great!
