Search 25lt Jerry Cans on ebay - most say food grade
Postage seems reasonable on the ones I looked at or you might spot a local seller for collection

I had a pack of 3 delivered from ebay for less than 20 quid. Now all contain lager ready for the summer (if it arrives).

Not familiar with cubes, but I have great success scrounging mango chutney barrels from my local indian restaurants. 40l food grade screwthread barrels. I use them as grain stores, kit stores and have converted one to an HLT with a cheapo kettle element. They also make great fv's. Most restaurants chuck them in the skip! They take some cleaning, but well worth it I reckon.

As above, check with local breweries, I've seen them offered for free locally.
