Just restarted again after a 2 years break. Brewed the Townes IPA from Marc Ollossen's book, an old favourite of mine. I'm trying to improve on old imperfections so I'm giving Cold Crashing a try to improve clarity. I have spilt the 10 gallon brew into 5 gallon bins for fermentation. Batch 1 was put into secondary after a week then spent another week in the house. It then went into the beer fridge where it has spent the last week.
Batch 2 spent first week in the house and the second week in the cooler garage. I don't have time to bottle batch 1 for a week or so, and I want to get batch 2 in the fridge ASAP.
The big question is..... do I have to bottle batch 1 immediately after Cold Crashing or can I place it in the coolish garage for a week to 10 days?
Thanks
BT

Re: Cold Crash Advice
I've never cold crashed my beer but don't rule out finning with gelatine for clarity, really good stuff.

Re: Cold Crash Advice
imho as long as you move the brew gently from the fridge as not to disturb too much sediment and insulate it to maintain as much chill for as long as possible then it should be fine left a bit longer. your just maturing before conditioning rather than the other way round

ist update for months n months..
Fermnting: not a lot..
Conditioning: nowt
Maturing: Challenger smash, and a kit lager
Drinking: dry one minikeg left in the store
Coming Soon Lots planned for the near future nowt for the immediate
