London Amateur Brewers - next meet 7th Jan

Post by spearmint-wino » Sat Jan 05, 2008 1:54 pm

A little late off the mark with this one, sorry...

The next meeting of LAB will be this coming Monday (7th Jan) in the usual venue: upstairs in The Wenlock Arms, 26 Wenlock Road, London N1 7TA. (Walk up City Road from Old Street Tube, after 5ish mins walk turn right up Windsor Terrace and the pub is about 200m on the right). The group seems to be really thriving now with more than a dozen regular members and new people joining each month.

The talks this month are "Hops and the Beer Styles they made Famous" and "Brief notes on Mild", plus there's the customary tasting and evaluation of members' home-brewed beers. This month has a Porter theme, and attendees are requested to bring 2 bottles if possible, just so that everyone gets more than a sip - one bottle between 12+ people doesn't go a long way! If you don't have a Porter, no matter, bring what you have available - it's really enlightening trying different people's beers and what people make of them.

Arrive at 6, get yourself a beer & say hi, meeting starts at 6.30. Hope to see you there.

drinking: ~ | conditioning: ~ | primary: ~ | Looks like I need to get brewing then...

How did it go SW?

Short notice, no beer, and a trip already booked to Manchester did for me this month.

'Spect it was a roaring success, and a great boozer to hold it in!
