The Lions Club of Braintree, in association with the North-West Essex branch of CAMRA, are pleased to confirm that the 4th Annual Braintree Real Ale Festival will be held once again at the Braintree Institute on the 12th-14th June 2008.

This year we are hoping to offer in the region of 50 different Real Ales, and 9 Ciders and Perrys. As a new feature this year we will have an "Essex Bar". This will allow us to feature 18 Real Ales from breweries across the county, many of which you may well not be aware of. The rest of the Real Ales will be from across the rest of East Anglia and the Midlands.

As is now the tradition, we have commissioned a special Real Ale, that will be unique to the festival. This year the Nethergate Brewery are producing Braintree Pride.

LATEST NEWS: We now have the final (we hope) list of Real Ales, Ciders & Perrys for the Festival. Checkout the 2008 Beer List link on the left for the list. We are sure you will find a number of interesting items to try.

Proceeds from this event will once again be donated charity. As a result of the 2007 Festival, two vital local charities have benefited and last August we were pleased to present a cheque to Essex Air Ambulance for £1800 and another to Farleigh Hospice for £1800.
