Skipton 2009 - NCB & SCB Weekend June 26th - 28th

Just thought I would let the forum aware of a joint craft brewers meeting over the weekend of the 26th - 28th June in Skipton.

The Northern Craft Brewers are hosting the weekend for an event at the Copper Dragon Brewery and are being joined by a healthy contingent of Scottish Craft Brewers.

Weekend Itinerary
Friday evening - a tour of the local Skipton pubs (a few are listed in CAMRA's good pub guide).
Saturday Morning - a tour of The Copper Dragon Brewery, a talk from the brewer and the all important beer competition (see below).
Saturday lunch will be at the Copper Dragon Restaurant followed by an afternoon in the Copper Dragon function suite.
Saturday Evening will be another tour of the Skipton pubs.

Competition
The competition consists of two classes:

Pale Ale (1045-1055)
80/- (1040-1045)

Unlike other beer competitions, you only need to present a single bottle of your beer (this is to encourage as many entries as possible).

So there you have it. A weekend of beer centric fun: a couple of pub crawls, a tour of a brewery and a little bit of competition. If you fancy coming along I'm sure it will be a worthwhile journey. The game kicks off at 4pm on Friday as that is when my train gets in.

That sounds like a weekend to put in the diary, might have to get a pass from SWMBO. On a related note who do I speak too about NCB membership?

As things stand i could be out in Skipton that Friday, and if so i`ll join up with you,
but its my mates descision, so we could end up going down Burnley instead yet, but if i do
make it i`ll try and join up with you.
