Another Cambridge Beer Meeting!!

Well.....it's time for another

Kingston Arms, off Mill Road in Cambridge at 8pm on Friday 29th.

Anybody is welcome to come and talk bo**ocks and sample some decent home brewed beer along with the fine ales behind the bar of course (and some good nosh)

It will be Steve's (Tequilla6) last meeting as he's off in his camper van full of beer to some weird places So come and say bye.

For those that haven't been to one of the meetings, it would be good to see you there. Don't be frightened by the photo on our last events post

I'm going to have to give this one a miss again unfortunately, It's been a busy few weeks what with working for a living again and this weekend is quite full as well! I may be able to squeeze in a brew for myself (as apposed to brewing for new year's and a mates' birthdays) on saturday tho'.

Oh, and all my white shield went in about an hour at new years' s, so it couldn't have been that bad

I seem to remember (barely) a request for the recipe for my Christmas ale.

I brewed it when pretty hungover and my notes were a little sparse but this is what I've cobbled together

Maris Otter 3985g
Pale crystal (60 ECB) 83g (This was left over from a previous brewday, I chucked it in)
Crystal (125 ECB) 702g
Black 52g

Dextrose 419g

Challenger (AA 6.3) 26g, 90 min
Northdown (AA 8.0) 11g, 20 min

Grated root ginger 50g, 5 min
2 cinnamon sticks whole, 5 min
1 clove whole, 5 min

Brewlabs Thames Valley 3 yeast (1.5 litre starter)

Final volume 17 Litres

Mash temp 68C
OG 1.062
FG 1.006


Btw, Is there a recipe for that porter with the brown malt?
