Hi All.
I am planning on going to the above festival, which is on Wed 13th to Sat 16th April 2011? It's on at Northumbria University Students Union. I was supposed to be going to Newcastle for another reason, and that got cancelled, but I had already booked my flights, so I'm still heading, especially now that I have found out this is on.
Anyone else going? I presume that a lof of the beers might be gone by the Saturday, but probably still worth a shot. Can you book ahead for this type of event, or would there be any need?
Cheers,
Billy.
35th Newcastle Beer & Cider Festival
Re: 35th Newcastle Beer & Cider Festival
I'd may be there on the Friday.
There is no 'booking' for this type of event, it's a sort of 'turn up and drink thing'.
It was very good last year. Me and ScottyMc went and got well pissed on some cracking ales.
Yes, a lot of the beers will be gone by then. We went on the Thursday last year.

Too right we did!Garth wrote:

I don't think the change of venue will dampen the festival at all.
Saturday (the last day) is generally the 'finishing off' day, most of the good stuff can go in the first two days.

Cheers for the feedback lads. I'm flying in the Friday evening, so might go straight to the Festival then. Cask ale is only making a comeback in Ireland now, so I'm sure I'll be happy with whatever is left anyway.
Re: 35th Newcastle Beer & Cider Festival
It's one of the highlights of my year - we close the department and all head off to the festival on Friday afternoon lunchtime onwards.... Most beers are still on, but start running out rapidly 16:00 onwards - it also gets very, very busy later
I wonder if Mordue's will settle there differences this year and have a stand?
Beer list should be appearing any time at http://www.cannybevvy.co.uk/Beer_Festiv ... _list.html

that remains to be seen, although once a child has spat it's dummy out, the toys are usually well and truly out of the pram.GeordieBrewer wrote:I wonder if Mordue will settle their differences this year and have a stand?
it'll be no great loss if they're not there anyway.......the tax dodgers don't make the best beer in the world

You don't work for Groundwork by any chance?GeordieBrewer wrote:It's one of the highlights of my year - we close the department and all head off to the festival on Friday afternoon lunchtime onwards.
