Hello again fellow brewers. Been a long time. I have had my house up for sale , so my brewgear is gathering dust in the garage, hense the lack of my posting/brewing. Recently my youngest was in Alder Hey childrens hospital for the best part of a month with a nasty infection. Seems to be sorted now, but I was hoping to raise some money for charity, primarily for the volunteer run McDonalds house which accomodates families free of charge adjacent to the hospital. And hense the charity beer festival.
So basically I'm after some advice from anybody who has run a festival. Is it an idea I should pursue? What kind of money can be raised? Where do I start? What kind of a venue should I be looking for? Bands? Food? List goes on. Feel free to post on this thread or PM me anything you think may be helpful. Thanks for reading
Jake.

right jake ive sent you a pm. our last festival has just finished, it wasnt too shabby! were not too far from each other either, where abouts do you think you want to hold your festival? city centre liverpool is going to be very expensive, not a lot happens round elesmere maybe that could be a good place to do it being local to yourself? find a local community space as a venue, involve the local camra lot(wirral branch are very helpful people) for a good festival your looking at a fair bit of wastage, overestimate what you need by a 1/4, average consumption at a festival is just under 4 pints, keep everything simple pricewise, get local buisnesses to sponsor your casks and ciders and put their sponsorship details in the festival program , pay for this by selling advertising to local buisnesses and pubs, do different coloured ticket tokens for each session , people are gits and will try to pull the wool over your eyes! youll need a tempory events notice supply light snacks (crisps, nuts, filled rolls etc) to make extra dosh for your cause approach local breweries frodsham brimstage spitting feathers peerless liverpool craft, liverpool one and ourselves liverpool organic(nearly forgot 4t's and blueball in runcorn as well) some of us maybe able to help you out and good luck
