Yes a great night out and, as Eric says, the beers were very good indeed.

I'm still not sure how Eric managed to blag not only that phial of yeast, but also all the sample hops that the guy brought with him (which he then gave to me - thanks again Eric!).

Next Brewer's night is on Februay 23rd when it will be Rudgate Brewery, York. The usual venue and the talk will start at 8.00 PM.

There's a starter going of the yeast from the last meeting. Anyone wanting some please say. A slant for Seymour will be prepared.

Starter is going well, one of the best behaved yeasts I've messed with in quite some time. Cannot see anything to stop that.
Have yet to inoculate Seymour's slant, everything is on hand but I need the place to myself when working at that scale to avoid any possible contamination and haven't had those circumstances of late. It will happen.

Definitely, it's flat out replicating. Intend to take and upload some of the action pictures for Jim.

Pictures as promised, but be warned, one isn't very pretty and another fully shows Seymour's slant, in order to maintain anonymity it will not be disclosed which is his.

First the Cullercoats yeast which can be seen to be very well behaved in its new home.



By comparison this different yeast has been doing battle in hope of escape and a great amount did.

Just a reminder for all about next Monday's meeting in Green Terrace, Sunderland. 8:00 for the meet the brewer talk by Rudgate.
I'll bring a couple of yeast samples as requested, probably sufficient to pitch in 23 litre brews although, by observation, would if put into a half or one litre starter a day before complete in 48 hours primary fermentation as was said.
A slant has been despatched.

Two batches of yeast are in the refrigerator for Monday. Got a busy week coming up but am hoping to get a brew going before too long myself. Should have another to pass on at the next meeting.
Would love to try your beer Norm, don't bottle much but think there might be something to reciprocate.
