Thanks everyone for coming for a first meeting I would say it was a success . Great company and plenty of beer crack, I look forward to future meetings with continued growth..cheers to the YI craft brewers :D

After the first meeting I think the general consensus was that the next meeting should be a hands on one possibly brewing with yeast experimentation.All suggestions are welcome and any thoughts on where to hold the next meet are welcome.

Ken was kind enough to sugest going to his for a group brew. That may be posible.
I think the Cricket Club was a great meeting place, nice choice there Steven. And the Landlord was keen having brewers in.

I was considering the same venue with a bit more beer related stuff..swaps tasting etc.just to get the ball rolling again.

That sounds like a plan. Im sure swaps would be posible, but Is the venue gonna be ok with us bringing in ale to taste.
Not sure how that work's with licencing. But Im good with it.

Good stuff ill check first about beer swapping..tasting etc..it would be great if you can make it jim..another note brewers contact want to put an article in about the "new" club ..do rule one is broken...you don't talk about brew club :D

another thought is the middle of october is the cricket club beer festival I think it's the 16th.

It's now October an I recon its time we set a date for the next meeting.
The cricket Club has there real ale festival on the 19th-20th. Details below.

Maybe we can get in there the day before it starts and get amoungt some of the good stuff.

Our 2012 Beer Festival will take place over the 3rd weekend in October.

Chester le Street Cricket Club will be serving up a treat for Real Ale lovers across the Northeast on the weekend of Friday 19th & Saturday 20th October at our annual Beer Festival where we will showcase 16 Premium & Local Cask Ales and 16 Real Ciders & Perry's from around the UK.

The clubs fantastic catering team will be serving up hearty homemade grub from Roast Meat Sandwiches to Steak & Ale Pie!

We have once again won the Durham CAMRA Club of the Year and this years Beer Festival will once again underline the clubs commitment to Real Ale.

Our ales this year will include numerous festival award winners with Thornbridge's Jaipur IPA being the Star of the Show.

Our cider selection this year has come from a company called Craft Cider who source and make available a wide selection of the best ciders in the UK. They will be attending the event on the Friday evening allowing people to taste different ciders and be educated a little on their origin.

The only potential problem with going the night before is that it's a Thursday, so work the next day for many.

Why not just go on the first night of the beer festival (i.e. the Friday)?
