Clubs / Organisations in Kent?

Post by PaddyX21 » Wed Oct 17, 2012 8:41 pm

I've seen there are London based clubs (LAB), and a Canterbury based club (EKAB), but I was wondering if there were any others that anyone knows about at all?

Nope, but I'd like one my way as well! :)

Can't be arsed to keep changing this bit, so, drinking some beer and wanting to brew many more!

You're pretty much in the same situation as me - half way between London and Canterbury!
They aren't particularly difficult for me to get to, but I'd really be looking at more travel than I wanted, which means I'd be tempted to drive, which means I wouldn't get the tasting opportunities :(
Plus the trains are stupid money really.

I had thought there might be something mid kent based, either Maidstone or Medway, but if there is then they need to learn about the power of internet advertising!

Are they enough of us Kent dwellers here to start an informal gathering of our own?

lol

I don't know if there be enough interest to get the idea off the ground tbh, and then the subject of 'where' will probably kill it!
I suppose it could be a rolling venue, with different members effectively 'hosting' on different occasions.

Ahh I'll put it down to a pipe dream and wonder off down the pub for a while

I'm up for it too (Maidstone area). I know that there are a couple of other keen HBers in town who aren't signed up to this forum, and there are a few Kenters over on the other forum.

You surely mean Canterbury West station? I have thought of going, but then I'd probably fall asleep on the train back to Tonbridge and wake up in London, or worse, the sidings (again) #-o

We've all done it! I've ended up at the wrong end of the county a few times after beer festivals

Perhaps we should just descend on masse on the Canterbury event one time :D

I would, you would probably find that they would be happy to help you form your own. The CBA would also be happy to encourage you to form your own group . . . The more brewers getting together to talk about and drink beer the better . . . Go For It!!!

Yes, first Wednesday of the month. I'm planning to be there on the 7th. It's hosted by the bottle shop in the goods shed, so beer to buy as well.
