Where to stay Home Brew Champs Oxford?

Post by orlando » Mon Jul 29, 2013 11:47 am

Can anyone in the area suggest a good location for these. I'm looking for somewhere to "hang my hat" for one night that only involves walking ( ) a short distance to and from the venue.

Theres a youth hostel just down the road towards the railway station,or if things get a bit silly head the other direction and youll find a cemetery

Wednesday night? Have you confused this with GBBF, I thought it was just the Saturday, have I missed something?

Is there much of a "do" following the judging ? The website seems really lacking in detail here and just mentions an "Award Ceremony" with just a place and time shown.

Kicking out time is 9pm (we have to be tidied up and done by then).

And if you're short of beer by that point, a short wonder up the road gets you to Oxford centre (first stop the Kite, then the Jam Factory...).

Accomodation: Try the Travelodge at Pear Tree, or search for B&Bs. the Youth Hostel is right next door to the station. Also, as a bonus it's out of term time so http://www.oxfordrooms.co.uk/ have spaces in the colleges - not too expensive and comfortable.

Floor open to the public from 4pm. There will be plenty of beer over, and people are encouraged to bring homebrew to share. A number of taps will be available for kegs to be connected too (ball lock cornies).
