Hi all, I've just okayed this post with Jim.

I'm Shane, I write irishsourbeers.com, and in conjunction with Matthew, the main man behind Boundary Brewing Co-op, we're organising a sour beer competition. When I say sour I really mean sour, funky, brett, lacto, unknown, etc! It's open to everyone in Ireland and the UK, and has two non-competing strands: professional and home brewer. We haven't decided prize categories for home brewers yet as it will depend on what we receive, but if you have something wild, funky or sour that you think is really good, please enter it! All profits from the competition will go to charity and winners will be announced on September 26th. The system we're using for home brewers will be familiar to a lot of people, but this is *not* a BJCP sanctioned competition! :)

The main site is here:
http://sourfest.beer

The home brew mini site is here:
http://sourfest.brewcomp.ie

Boundary is here:
http://www.boundarybrewing.coop/

Any questions please do hesitate to ask here or by using the contact form on the website.

Cheers!

Hi all. Thanks to everyone who has entered so far, but just to let you know we've reduced the price of 2nd and subsequent entries to £3 to encourage more puckering in September! :)

In other news, we're delighted to announce that the lucky winner of the homebrew side of the competition will get to brew their beer with Matthew in Boundary Brewing. You will get to spend the day in the brewery and when the beer is ready it will be released commercially in bottles upon the world. You will have a lot of input into the naming and labelling and who knows, you might be entering it in the commercial side of Sourfest 2016!
