WLP### (e.g. WLP575) = White Labs liquid yeast product codes
wy#### (e.g. wy1214) = Wyeast Liquid yeast product codes
US-05, Saf-04 = dried yeasts (Fermentis US Ale and British Ale respectively)
WTF = the sinking sensaton you get on a Tuesday when looking ahead to Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
WOndering if instead of being sticky we can start to extract bits of ths into a glosary or FAQ page?

I think the usual spelling is "terephthalate". An odd word, for sure, but not quite as phallic as your version.wetdog wrote:PET - poly-ethylene-terephallate

Transferring beer from one container to another for bottling or conditioning. Usually done to separate beer from yeast.how about racking? read this one a lot, but I'm not sure I understand it correctly
Re: Brewing terminology/acronyms
ahh.. thanks. why do you want to separate the beer from yeast? does it affect flavour? thanks
Re: Brewing terminology/acronyms
Once the fermentation is over with you don't want your beer sitting on trub, which is essentially a pile of unusable bi-products from fermentation and a load of dead yeast, for a couple of reasons which are nto worth going into in detail... Either way you don't want it in the bottles because they'll cloud up whenever they are moved, less of a problem in PB's, Corny's and Kegs but still you're better off getting the dead stuff away because there's a very slim chance you'll get autolysis (more of an issue in winemaking) or just bad flavours drifting up from the remaining yeast breaking down the trub over time...
I think that made sense, tell me if i'm wrong, though
