Extended brewday again as my element gave up the ghost as far as I can tell. Or its got caked on sugar. I moved the wort to another vessel, let it cool down, put some in again and it started up again... only to stop before the rolling boil. I'll clean it. Fortunately I had a spare element as the ones I bought for brewery 2.0 are the same!

Anyway long story short missed my OG by 6 points... maybe I did something wrong but never mind, it's no biggie and I'm sure it will be fine... as long as the extra fannying around with the boil hasn't made it bitter

Worth saying I wasn't anywhere near a stuck mash... maybe I'll do one with more wheat next time to see how nuts I can get it :D

Sounds like a good result despite the element woes...

I've only had one element stop on me and it just cut out due to a slight boil over... Fortuantely I have two (2.4kw) so I switched to the other. after a clean and dry out it worked fine since (about 6 brews ago)

I'd say 75% wheat and no stuck mash is good going!
I've done 50% with no issues, but then I like the 50:50 styles much more than the German weizens... I get tired of them after a couple of bottles so not worth me brewing them. I'd rather have an American/ English style wheat any day - great BBQ drinking!

Let us know how this turns out...
:)
