Hoppy Dazzler

First time I've posted a brewday here, no pictures I'm afraid but I've got another one lined up for this weekend and I'll make sure I get some.

Background to this beer is that I ordered way too many Amarillo & Cascade hops earlier in the year and I wanted to use some up.

Yeast
Safale S-05

Mash: Overnight (13 hours) starting at 68 degC, ending up at 52. Used 14 litres of water, treated with half a Campden tablet and some gypsum, epsom and CaCl calculated by Bru n' Water. No idea if this makes any difference - I would really need a control sample to check, but the water where I live is quite soft and has very little dissolved salts out the tap.

Sparge: Single batch sparge, but forgot to top up the mash with water before I drained the first runnings =D> . So really just drained the first runnings and then dumped all my sparge water in afterwards. Not sure if this would affect my efficiency.

Boil: A rare sunny October day in Scotland at about 22 degrees, so ended up brewing outside for the first time 8) . Boiled 20 litres for 70 minutes and then cooled using a copper wort chiller - took about 20-30 minutes to get down to pitching temperature.

Post-boil: Ended up with 15 litres in the FV, rehydrated the yeast and added it. Stuck the FV in the waterbath and set the thermostat to 21 degC.

Will take a gravity reading tonight and if it's the same tomorrow I'll be bottling and getting onto brewing the next batch (TT Landlord clone) at the weekend!
