Getting set up for a brewday tomorrow. All the water is ready to go and treated with CRS and will be set on a timer to be about 80 degrees by 0700. I will then decant the required amount into a cold mash tun and let the temp settle down to the strike temp before putting in the grain. The grain is all ready to go as is the yeast. The yeast has been in the fridge for a year now (split from a new White labs vial) and gave it a go. Nothing to lose. Put it in a 500/ 50 water/ spray malt and nothing much happened. Upped with a 1000/ 100 mix and remembered the yeast nutrient this time. It looked very poorly then went off like a rocket so will give it a go.

It will be a busy day as I also have a beer in the FV that I will need to bottle while the mash is on. All the bottles have star san in the already so should not be too much of a drama.

Here is the recipe:

Brewlength is 23Ltrs.

Did not take long to heat the water. For interest it lost 6 degrees being decanted into the mash tun.

Grain in an hit the mash temp bang on. Now to get the bottling done!

Boil now on and 90 min hops added. Only one more mishap - tap left open. First time I have done that for a while.

Yeast is also ready to go and managed to fill 40 bottles of the previous brew during the mash.

Went a little over and got 24 litres . All tucked up for a couple of weeks in the fermenting fridge.
