Tonights brew with Amarillo hops

Post by Asphaltboy » Wed Nov 14, 2007 10:31 pm

Hello all,

Got a midweek brew in tonight using amarillo hops.

This is the first time i've used them, and they were fantastic.

Got them from brupacks - 8% alpha, nice and pale green with a great aroma.

Muntons light spraymalt 2000g
Golden syrup approx 200g

amarillo 25g for 90 mins
amarillo 50g steep for 20 mins

sg 44 for 16 litres

tasted and smelled great in the trial jar - looking forward to this one! :D

Amarillo is my favorite american hop (goldings is my favorite british hop, I have some growing in my backyard).
I would love to grow some amarillo, but thier rhizomes are not available to the home brewer.
I'm just here for the beer.
