Tell me about dry hopping please

Post by MacDuck » Tue Jan 15, 2008 3:04 pm

Hello all

I have had an attempted ESB clone in my fermenter for a week now, and am wondering what to do about the dry hopping.

Do I move it to a secondary with the hops for a few weeks, or do I simply move to my keg with the hops and priming sugar? In which case the hops remains until the beer is completely consumed.

Advice please

Cheers
Charles

I have 110 Litres of English Bitter in my fermenter been there 5 days but done now. Just added 150g Goldings Pellets to the primary will leave warm for a few days then crash cool to 5oc & leave for 2 weeks till i return from work then keg. The pellets will sink to the bottom if you are using whole leaf use a dry hopping bag. If you add from 1/2 to 1 oz of hops you will get good results more if you are a hop head you can add to the keg just as well it's really up to you
