How long would you suggest conditioning an OP copy for? I'm going to brew this to christen my new shiny boiler.

Mine took about 6-7 weeks for the flavours to round off and come together. But then again as its a 6%+ brew that's to be expected going by the old 1 week per 10pts starting gravity rule.

Does the Treacle need to be boiled before being used to prime the barrell??

Will the Saccharin Tablets ad anything to the finished beer??

I will be making this early next week so any useful advice for this one would be greatly appreciated.

I made this one yesterday, my second attempt at extract. All went well and I collected 23L @ 1062! I used S04 yeast and it is bubbling away merrily, so very happy. I went with the recipe and used the saccharin tablets.

I had a quick taste after i racked to the FV, there was a slight taste from the sweeteners, I take it these will disperse after conditioning??

Also, does anybody have an idea what FG this should get too??

I eventually went with

3.2kg bulldog dark liquid
250g crystal
250g Roast Barley
1kg Demerara (all i had in)
5 saccharin tablets
60G fUGGLES


S04 yeast starter.

30 Mins steeped grains
45 min boil

OG 1062
