Beginners question fermenting tub

Hi there im new to home brewing and have recently bought a starter kit, the fermenting tub that came with it doesn't have a hole in the lid its just a sealed lid so do i have to fit an airlock and bung as it does not say so in the instructions? thanks

Thanks for replying so quickly there. The instructions were a bit vague and printed on the smallest piece of paper possible. I've actually started the brew but will follow your advice, would it better to fit airlock though?

I'd recommend you read everything Daab's written, he knows a thing or two does that lad

And DO NOT be tempted to fit the lid tightly all round or omit to crack it open. I did said deed, and I came back to find the lid half way to the other side of the room!
