Vinegary smell

Post by Matt24 » Tue Aug 04, 2009 6:37 pm

My beer has been in the FV for about a week, and when I had a look at it to check if its ready for kegging, there was a rather pungent vinegar aroma.

The question is: Is the batch completely buggered, or is this not uncommon after/during primary ?(I have never noticed it before with other brews)

Higher temperatures during the summer tend to create a bit of a vinegar smell dont worry just keg it when it has reached its FG and you should be OK

There was slight hicup!

The has been leaking un noticed so I have lost a few pints :(

When I had my "sneaky Sip" after syphoning it tasted really good.
