Do I need to skim

Post by crafty john » Wed Oct 21, 2009 8:20 am

I did my first extract yesterday my own recepie but my method was from reading various books, they all say to skim the crap off the top after about 3 days the only problem is I am going away for a few days. Will it be OK if I don't skim :?:

Cheers guys

Skimming seems to be one of those things which is more applicable to commercial brewers, specific yeast strains and recovering yeast for re-pitching as far as I can tell. I just leave the yeast to get on with it and the beer always turns out OK.
Best wishes
