If you can't get the boil use less water mate just add less LME so it's not to thick as it could stick to the pan then when done poor into fv add the rest of LME sugars what ever else happy days

It's not that I can't boil, I was wanting to experiment using extracts only. Since extracts are boiled in the process of making them and since I'm not going to use hops it seems to me the boil could be avoided.

Sorry mate see what your saying I would say no point in boiling if your not using hops it would save a load of hassle also ,you would get the fresh flavour from the malts of the steeping then dry hop after fermentation if you want ,also if your using a two tin kit it's already got hops in for bitter flavour . I like that idea !
I guess this is what your planning.

I'm planning to brew a batch of plain beer and devide it up into five parts then add a different herb or spice to each small part (dry herbing?). Depending on how they taste I'll blend two or more of them together for a gruit ale.

Will do. I am probably going to start this project some time next wekk, then 2-3 weeks to ferment and a few days to dryherb.
