If you aren't doing a mash of some description, then you won't have any enzymes to convert the starches in your torrefied wheat, surely?

In a 23l recipe I add 500g to the mash.

EKG. For Bittering or aroma? Better question, what are you trying to improve?

@bigstig

Just to clarify.
You are mashing the torrified wheat along with some pale malt or at least something that will convert the starch to fermentables?
As JJSH suggested, mashing the wheat on its own will not be enough as it doesn't have the enzymes to do the conversion

Cheers Tom

You could use 50% barley or buy the enzymes.

Tbh I wouldn't bother with the wheat.
