I added a slug of irish whiskey, about 20 ml to a litre of beer before bottling.
I sampled last night after being in the bottle for 3 weeks and I have to say, impartially I think it's very good to excellent. The coffee notes are great, the amount of residual sweetness is perfect, there is a woody character too it, im not sure where from, maybe im tasting the whiskey, and the finish is moderately dry and very roasty. There is no "gap" in flavour or body like some porters I've had.
The recipe is so simple too.
Bottle in 350ml bottles and serve in a tulip glass, 10-15C
