After Fermenting

Post by mchansen » Tue Aug 05, 2008 2:14 pm

Hi All

I am all new to this beer brewing, so a few questions?

I have got a Coopers Brewing Kit and got it all set up yesterday and according to the instruction the fermentation should be all done by Sunday the 10th of August.

My question is.
If the fermentation isn't over by Sunday can I leave the brew in the fermenter for an other 5 days or will that be bad for the brew.
The reason I ask is it looks like I will have to go away with work for 5 days

Regards

Your beer will be fine for at LEAST ten days on the yeast. Many of us on here reccomend letting your beer sit in the primary fermenter for ten days before you bottle or keg.

I should think an extra five days in the fermenter will be fine.
