Oakham JHB

Post by GroovePuppy » Wed Oct 29, 2008 6:42 pm

Hi,

I'm in the US and new to homebrewing. Only done a couple of batches. I'm planning a Hob Goblin next but I hear good things about Oakham JHB. I saw the recipe posted by smp465. Has anyone tried this or knows of a recipe that works?

Cheers

Bump!

I'm planning my first extract brew and want to do something not too heavy, something like JHB would be perfect. Any pointers?

At a guess, light malt extract to get your gravity to 1040ish, then Mount Hood hops for aroma, perhaps Challenger for bittering? I'm fairly sure Mount Hood is the main hop in JHB though. Yeastwise, probably an american ale yeast, US-05 or Whitelabs 001 California Ale.

Fermenting: nowt (sadly). Drinking: still a few bottles of my imperial stout knocking about . . . it's rather good now
