Hello, Thinking of doing an Manns brown style ale, anyone got any ideas of a recipe? Or maybe an easy drinking mild?

Also does yeast effect the smell of the beer? i've been using the same yeast s04 on my previous four different brews and they all seem to have the same funny smell, but it does'nt effect the taste.
