Stupid Question: Mini Extract brew in a Demijohn?

Post by WishboneBrewery » Sat Jan 24, 2009 10:51 am

Someone's mention of a Mini brew set me off, so I'll ask the question.

Is it possible to make a brew without doing all the boiling up and steeping of malted grains & Hops?

Like Just buy some Hopped Spray Malt for the bittering element, a couple of other light/medium/dark (maybe a wheat too) spray malts, buy some Hops etc
Then Just boil up and dissolve the spray malts, cool and add to the Demijohn with a bit of dry hopping for aroma?

Would this make a batch of muddy water or would it actually make a drinkable beer? Has anyone done this?

As I say... these may be stupid questions, cheers :)
