brewing error

Post by Belto » Sat Feb 03, 2007 4:37 pm

Hi guys looking for some advice.

Just finished an extract brew using
3 x spray malt
400 grm crystal malt
50 grms cane sugar

problem is I thought the bags of spray malt were 1 kg
But thet were in fact 500grms

resulting in a SG of 125 @ 25 degrees

a low alcohol beer .

what amount of cane sugar should be added to increase the final alcohol to approx 5%

I would say none - add some more spraymalt instead, otherwise the beer won't really be worth drinking.
