Which app to calculate partial boils?

OK that's it - I'm pulling my hair out now.

I'm trying to plan my next brew from either Wheeler's book or "Brewing classic styles" but I just don't know where to start understanding the recipies?

So what apps/tools are people using to adapt the recipies to their available quantities?

I don't know of any which support partial boil. I used to use a combination of BeerEngine and a calculator.

Beersmith should be able to do it. You just have to set up your brewhouse properly with it and top up water etc.

Thankyou - that looks like just the job.

I've spent the last two nights trying to understand the instructions in "Brewing classic styles" but just couldn't figure out how to follw the example (e.g. where do I get the PPG from?).

Beersmith looks like it does exactly what I need/want and $21 isn't too bad a price - it's quite a polished program! Shame it's windows only, but I can live with that.

Run it in Wine, or in a windows emulator on Mac, if you're only able to concentrate on one click at a time ;)
