After getting back into making my own beer I have got the bug to try somthing diffrent from a kit.
I have a 26ltr berco sitting ready and want a nice light beer with strong hoppy flav. Can anyone give me a simple version being as its my first attempt.
Thanks

Hophead is a lovely pint, but I've not come across a recipe for it, made from grain or extract I'm afraid.

One thing you could do is make a beer called 'styrian stunner', which you can make with just pale malt extract, and styrian goldings hops; I've not made the beer myself, but it should give quite a hoppy pale citrusy beer (about 4% abv) and seems extremely popular amongst those who have made it.

It's from a book called Real Ales for the Homebrewer by marc Olloson (a member of the forum). There are recipes on the forum for the beer, but not for the malt extract version as far as I know. I would reproduce the amount of malt extract required but my copy of the book has gone awol

Do other people think this would be a good alternative? If so, feel free to reproduce the malt extract version.. anyway, it's just a suggestion.

Thanks Dave, I was looking for an extract version myself after looking at the 'styrian stunner'. However I am unsure of the amount of extract to use to make 25lts.

I believe they give the amount of malt extract to use for 23 litres, but it is easy to convert... well, it would be if I could find my damn copy of the book
