Brew in the boiler?

So I've been thinking again.... #-o [-X

Trub. If it's not so important to get the wort off the trub then why do we???

I've done 1 BIAB so far and it's got my head spinning with ideas. I lost a fair amount of wort due to trub and lack of knowledge so I googled (and quizzed on here) alot about the trub. It turns out most folk don't worry about it soo...

Has anyone added yeast to the boiler and skipped the FV?

Might be tempted to give this a try in no one has beat me to it. :)

Yes, I once mashed, boiled then fermented in the same stockpot. Didn't seem to effect the brew. I did make sure I got rid of every trace of hop leaf using a sieve but the trub just settled to the bottom.

The only reservation I'd have with an electric boiler would be getting rid of all the fermentation gunk off the element but it probably wouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for that. My elements are underneath and i put the hops in a bag.

I'm getting tempted to try this.
