Body/Mouthfeel improve over time?

Post by ercol » Mon Dec 12, 2011 1:24 pm

Afternoon,

Having completed a few successful BIAB brews in the last months i'm now getting around to trying them....The youngest - a Landlord Clone is 2 weeks old and pretty damn good already, however the 2 others - a Dark Mild that should have been something like Orkney Dark Island (4 weeks old - recipe nicked from the Almanac Thread) and what i'm assured is a spot on clone of Fullers London Porter (3 weeks old) have come out with their flavours pretty spot on, but a little 'thin' and lacking any kind of head. I did do a minimum of priming, on both as i felt neither wanted to be 'fizzy', if that would make any difference?

Obviously i'm jumping the gun a bit on trying them - both should no doubt be left a bit longer to reach potential, but being new to this i figured i'd ask whether i should expect Body and mouthfeel to improve over time, or whether theres anything else i should be taking a look at in my brewing set up to try to improve.

Thanks,

Ercol

Hi Ercol :)
I seem to be impatient with my brews.including brews from 1980s kit brews, now I am brewing in the bag 3 so far pleased with them
What I have always noticed is the last 1/4 of the brew is the best, so I can only be drinking too early

Very true, my last pint is always the best :)
