Hi folks,
Been lurking for a bit, but thought I'd use my first post to share my latest BIAB-related project..
I'm doing 'single-vessel' BIAB (recent all-grain newbie), so there's the challenge of keeping the mash temperature steady in a stainless steel pot. I've come up with an inexpensive "Tun Cosy" which the pot can slip into for the mash. It's made of expanding foam and it only costs a tenner. I've used it for a few brews now, and my mashes stay well within 1 deg C every time. Today I put together an instructable for it, so thought some of you here might like to see!

Cheers!

That's a great idea, particularly for a smaller vessel.

Very interesting

If your kettle is up to 19 litres you could do what I do and shove it in a pre-heated oven, no temp lost across the mash time

Nice work! Seeing that the foam didn't stick to the plastic plant pot at all, do you reckon I could make one for my coolbox tun (which loses a few degrees) without having to wrap it in foil?
I do have some off cuts of kingspan and was planning to make box, but this could be even tighter and neater.
