Burton bridge top dog stout - finings?

Post by poolking » Sat Nov 01, 2014 1:02 pm

Hi , just doing this brew, got kit from Worcesterhop shop. Just opened and doughed in . Noticed there`s no protofloc tab with kit, checked recipe book - Graham wheelers British real ales and that also does not mention finings at last 10 mins. This is only my second all grain and I assumed finings always went in @ 10 mins before end. Is it right that no finings are needed with this brew?
Advice appreciated please, Thanks, Dave.

Some people use finings in dark beers, some don't. The benefits are debatable, surely?

Being new to all grain I don`t really know the pros and cons of adding finings at last 10 mins of boil. None with kit so I assume none go in. Just wanted to check with seasoned brewers. Thanks.
