How much sugar for 2.5 BIAB

Post by coldfoot80 » Tue Mar 10, 2015 4:18 pm

Hi guys

just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how much brewing sugar to add to my finished wort for a 2.5 gl BIAB ? I was planning on adding 50g which I found on a various forum but i'm not sure if that sounds not enough.

Thanks

Can you post a recipe.
I don't think I've ever added any sugar to my BIABs.

2.5kg maris otter
citra + amarillo hops added throughout the boil

I made a biab a while back and the carbonation was a little low so I thought a small amount of sugar would give it a little kick.

Are you asking how much priming sugar to add to your fermented beer before bottling/kegging? If so, then 50g sounds reasonable.

Wort is unfermented beer which is why your question is confusing.

Depends on the style of beer that you are brewing. For a 23 litre batch I usually prime with 90-110 grams and usually find that's about right.

+1 to 50g

I put 100g in 22L pale ale... A bit less for an english bitter or stout
