Is it brand new?
It happened with mine after couple of brews so I modified it.
http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/167c-thermal-fuse-ra18u
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008 ... UTF8&psc=1
Bought these parts and modifies it plus added some thermal paste under thermostat control switch the one from amazon.
When did it start to cut out? When you boiled wort or water? You just need to wait for it to cool down, or you can drain it and check if element is burnt and if it is then clean it :).

Hi Danny,

How did it all go in the end today? Were you able to get a boil back?

Hi Manngold

yeah after about an hour scratching my head , I decided to put wort in bucket and take bottom off boiler , and pad out thermal switch from base , added the wort back in, and turned on , managed to get a rolling boil going and finished it off, its now bubbling nicely in fermentation fridge :D , I have ordered the parts from the above post , so will change these when they turn and and put thermal switch back the way it was :D

cheers danny

Great! I remember my first biab, I was a bit of a anxious wreck. I am sure that it will turn out great, after 5 months conditioning, I have to say that it is a excellent brew! Hide some away for Christmas.

Nice one - my buffalo has never needed any tweaking - I guess the new ones err a bit more on the side of caution.

As for your next brew, do you have temperature control for your FV for lagering? I know you have a freezer setup for your kegs, but you need to have temperature control on the fermentation for lagers.

Yeah Grumpydev

I have a fridge where the kegs go for my wall taps in kitchen, so I stick a heat matt in there on a st1000 for fermenting at correct temps :-)

I'd say pale ale. My second BIAB was Way to Amarillo, loved it. Definitely brewing it again.
