Don't think so Guy, looked a nice mash with a made to measure insulating cover. Imagine the posting was done as the boil started.

Looking good.

+1 Eric.
Insulated bags are really good. Cut down sleeping bags are excellent. Super for mashing and fermenting but not boiling. You need boilover proof lid for that.

Stout. I ended up with 3.25 gallons at 1.055 in the F V.
Only used four ounces of oatmeal.

There's about a quarter inch of krausen this morning.

Typical of Nottingham. Did you mash and boil for just 30 minutes?

Rookie,
When you say `First BIAB`, do you mean first one in your new house,
or first one ever, or both? #-o

Good Luck with your Brew! =D>

First ever. I'm wanting to have the option of brewing all-grain without having to buy a mashtun or other additional equipment.

Welcome Rookie.

You can do all grain brewing without much stuff.

Buckets and Bowls work. As do cooler boxes. And plastic fermenters. Don't let anyone tell you you must have a stainless megastructure.
You will find your own way. You may also find a "house beer" recipe that you can perfect.

Better and easier beer will however create a little voice in your head 😁 Guitarists call is GAS (guitar acquisition syndrome) ... Round here I don't know... "More shiney" perhaps... brewers seem to have magpie tendancies.

The beer you like to drink will have a large influence.
