OOOOOOOOPS. I forgot that in the last order I made the shop was out of melanoiden and I got aromatic malt instead.

By doing a sparge this batch I got a higher O G than expected: 1.063 instead of 1.052.

Wow--that's a huge improvement in efficiency! And hopefully a huge improvement in taste.

The gravity sample smelled and tasted pretty good.
Since this is my first time brewing this recipe I can't say whether it's an improvement or not.
