I wonder what it offers that the Greg Hughes or Graham Wheeler books don't already provide.

It's tempting, but relatively short at 160 pages and I already have a fair number of brewing books (which I've read to varying degrees). From the contents page it seems to go into more depth about the process than Hughes, and is lighter on recipes. The authors are clearly impressive.

I might be wrong but I think I read somewhere that Hughes plagiarized a lot of his book.

No idea about that. It has a nice selection of recipes in it, whether they are his recipes is, I guess, an open question! It's a bit light on the process side of things. I realise you don't want to get too bogged down in details when you start brewing, but Wheeler's recipe books seem to squeeze in a bit more detail that I think a beginner would want to know. The second Hughes edition, which I've looked at but don't own, would have benefitted from a bit more of an extensive update as well (for example, loads more dried yeasts were available when the second edition was published, which could have been suggested for some of the beers). Still, it is popular and people seem to like the recipes (wherever they come from!).Dennis King wrote: ↑Sun Nov 27, 2022 10:05 pmI might be wrong but I think I read somewhere that Hughes plagiarized a lot of his book.
I know I'm going to end up buying this new brewlabs book! I can't help myself!
