World's Best Beers

Post by MarkA » Sat Apr 06, 2024 4:40 pm

Charity shop find for today is a hardback edition of World's Best Beers by Ben McFarland & Tom Sandham (The Thinking Drinkers, apparently). Just having a flick through and there's some interesting brewery profiles. Looks good and certainly worth £3.

One minor niggle so far is, on the glassware page, the first glass being called a 'Nonink' glass. This is a 2nd edition, surely someone would have noticed and corrected it to Nonic?? Or am I wrong?? But hey, three quid and all that...

Never seen this one before, but you can't argue with £3!

I bought "Brew Classic European Beers at Home" by Graham Wheeler from WOB or somewhere like this, for a bargain price a number of years ago. So many great recipes.

Have you tried any yet?

There are no recipes in the book, unfortunately.

I found a copy of Michael Jackson's Beer Companion https://www.amazon.co.uk/Michael-Jackso ... _ap_sc_dsk in the bookshop attached to Fleetwood Museum last week.

A pound well spent.

A very good museum as well.
Mostly staffed by very enthusiastic volunteers.
Brewing in the badlands between Arnside and Milnthorpe.
