Carbing up warm beer is really hard, it's a lot easier to carb up cold beer.
Get an old fridge off ebay and put your keg in there. You are not just mixing gas with beer, you need the beer to absorb the gas and this works best when it is cold.
I carb my kegs by leaving them connected for about a week at 10psi, in a fridge set to 10c then I serve at 5psi through 1 metre of 3/8 beer line.
Serving at anything higher than 10psi will create foam and knock all the carbonation out of your beer.

High pressures and shaking are ok(ish) in an emergency but I prefer to keep the beer cool and carb it at serving temperature and pressure over a week or so.... but then I have the luxury of a kegerator. Fridges can be picked up quite reasonably if you keep an eye out, and if you're reasonably practical a lot of the ones sold as not working just have a knackered thermostat which can be bypassed.

I carb my beers at 20 psi shaking corney for 30 seconds then remove gas pipe.. I then top gas back up every other day for around a week then reduce to around 8 psi to serve.

Try sticking the gas down the out pipe on the Corny. That'll get it into solution quicker!
Impossible unless you have beer out connector on your gas!

ok i give up! I'm going to buy a used fridge that'll fit two kegs Picking it up tomorrow forty quid! Might have to strip the door stuff off the inside but shouldnt take too long! I have persuaded the mrs itll be a dual use fridge and we'll chuck the older one that's too small! A lot of people seem to have a chiller and a fridge! Not sure why you'd need both! Cold carbed beer here we come! Hopefully for next sat and could stoke the bbq up again to celebrate!

Presumably my beer will last a lot longer in the fridge so that's also a bonus

Indeed - easy to achieve if you have JG fittings on your disconnects though.

No amendments necessary! plenty of room behind the kegs for a few bottles of wine and whathaveyou! I might run the gas line through the door seal at some stage but firstly I will probably just take it in and out of the fridge to squirt 15 psi in at then j repeat after a day! It might just be ready for the weekend! Cold beer is a necessity with this heat
