Floating dip tube for corny
Re: Floating dip tube for corny
Don't use 5mm ID X 10mm OD silicone tubing with Caskwidge floats in a corny keg. Too rigid for narrow cornies therefore prone to getting jammed on the keg wall then sucking CO2. 6 to 6.5mm ID with a 1 to 1.5mm wall is more reliable. The tubing supplied by Caskwidge (roughly 5mm ID X 10mm OD) is designed for casks, which are much wider than corny kegs

Ok, I get that tying a weight to the dip tube will help but what do you secure it with? How big a weight? Where is best to secure from, actually ilI have some cable ties which I think will probably do the trick but any other comments would be gratefully received. I have a keg that I thought was empty but I’d still half full so clearly the floating dip tube ain’t working as it should and to think I was thinking of converting them all to floaters but I’m having second thoughts now!! It’s be great to hear your thoughts!!
