Hi all
I have been using the tap-a-draft system for my first couple of brews, as I was attracted by the simplicity of only having a couple of bottles to fill. The system has worked really well for me so far, and I'm very pleased with it. The only downside I've really experienced is that sometimes I just want a few bottles of beer (for example, if I'm cycling to a friend's house for the evening), and a whole 10 pint tap-a-draft bottle is too much. So, my question is, are there any issues with simply filling up a few PET bottles from the draft system and taking them with me? I'm aware that oxidisation can be an issue, but is it likely to be a problem on this kind of time scale? What about if the beer won't be consumed for a few days (e.g. when going camping)?
Or, should I just start filling a few 500ml bottles alongside my tap-a-draft bottles so that I have more options available to me?
Filling bottles from a Tap-aDraft?
Re: Filling bottles from a Tap-aDraft?
Well put it this way, I've filled bottles from the dregs of a plastic pressure keg before, let them settle and drank them a couple of weeks later no problem.

Yeah, shouldn't be any problems with it, works fine when the beer is fairly young as there's a lot of yeast still floating around in it.
Ingredients: Water, Barley, Hops, Yeast, Seaweed, Blood, Sweat, The swim bladder of a sturgeon, My enemies tears, Scenes of mild peril, An otter's handbag and Riboflavin.

Great stuff, thanks guys. I'll be trying this approach in the near future then!
