How does the auto-syphon work with that? I didnt mind the bottling at first but its becoming a bit of a pain now. I like the idea of being able to have all my bottles pre-crated and filling from a bottler on the length of tubing.neilmcca wrote:I've seen one or 2 people here mention that they use a little bottler attached via an auto-syphon, seems like a really quick and easy way to bottle,
If you fast forward to 2:53 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hO974evrM5Y you will see what i mean.
i'd prefer this method as opposed to having the little bottler attached to my bucket, less bending over and i could have all my bottles ready in 2 crates and fill them in one go without picking a single one up (until i have to cap them).

I don't use the auto syphon,
read my later post, just above yours,
i have a "little bottler" attached via a hose to my bottling buckets tap, it's just as good.

Re: Bottling it! (with pictures)
it was a bit of a pain setting it up, i got hose that fitted inside the tap on the bottling bucket,
but to connect the other end of the hose to the little bottler i had to get a pipe reducer, but not necessarily that size, so get your tape measure out.

I thought you had to rinse VWP out, do you not?neilmcca wrote: on bottling day, i give each bottle a quick shake, empty and sanitise on bottle rinser with VWP (my bottle caps are also sanitised in the VWP in bottle rinser), put on bottling tree to drain.

Re: Bottling it! (with pictures)
Bit of a random one here, but I finally tried the dishwasher bottling last night.
I've avoided brewing/bottling in my kitchen (all outside on the patio usually), but last night was too cold to go bottling outside.
So instead I drained my pre-starsanned bottled on the dishwasher rack, put my bottling bucket over the door and then bottled over the open dishwasher door. At the end there was no mess on the floor and I was still toasty warm.
WIN!

How times change.
My bottling tree is gathering dust and I no longer use sanitiser.

Good work - do you crimp them separately?
I like all my bottles pre-crated, filling on a party tap, and crimping in the crate.
